Second: the text-as-images thing. The biggest reason for the text as images is that I'm a bit of a type-nut. I used Officina-Sans for the type and it's not one of those "embed-friendly" or "import-friendly" fonts, being a commercial, Open-Type typeface. Rather than risk the wrath of Adobe, I made the two images. As far as the blueprint framework goes, it's awesome. I may be doing a write-up on using blueprint in the near future. It not only made work go a little faster, but it allowed me to concentrate more on designing and less on fiddling around. Of course, there's always a bit of fiddling, but this time it was minimized to wrestling with IE6 for a few small issues and wrangling conditional comments to work in my standalone IE6 browser. I've used blueprint for a few sites now and have been nothing but pleased with it. It's also quite easy to customize, which makes it an absolute gem of a tool. First off, thank you Brendan!
